Definitions

Within the meaning of Law 18-07:

  • Personal data: any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person (the "data subject"), directly or indirectly, including by reference to an identification number or one or more factors specific to their physical, physiological, genetic, biometric, mental, economic, cultural, or social identity.
  • Data subject: any natural person whose personal data is processed.
  • Processing: any operation performed on personal data, such as collection, recording, organization, storage, adaptation, modification, retrieval, consultation, use, combination, restriction, erasure, or destruction.
  • Data controller: the natural or legal person, public or private, or the department, that determines, alone or jointly, the purposes and means of processing.
  • Processor: the natural or legal person, public or private, or the department, that processes personal data on behalf of the data controller.
  • Third party: any natural or legal person, public or private, or any other entity other than the data subject, the controller, the processor, and persons who, under the direct authority of the controller or processor, are authorized to process the data.
